Children learn best by actively
participating in his/her decisions and creating a program in which independence can grow. At Cecilia’s Child Care, we
celebrate individuality, self respect, self esteem, and diversity. Teaching children to do everyday tasks on their own in
a safe, secure, flexible and stimulating environment is only a milestone to the child’s future. Through a variety of
experiences, active exploration, play, involvement and manipulation of their environment, decision-making becomes part of
their daily life which gives children a sense of self-worth. Mistakes are an opportunity to challenge a
child to think of how to do things differently and learn. This helps a child be willing to attempt new
experiences, and building on existing skills. We have created an environment rich with literature, colors,
letters, and plenty of choices that promote independence.
For example: The art area has plenty of material accessible at the reach of the children and plenty
of choices where they can explore their creativity.
The
curriculum is designed to be appropriate to children’s differing needs, interests and developmental levels. Activities
are planned to support this learning process and address each child’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative
development. Activities tend to be open ended and are process not product oriented. They foster self-learning, problem solving,
decision making and responsibility in children. Our Child Care offers a tri-language program, English,
Spanish, and Sign Language.
Children participate in a variety of individual
and group activities designed to develop language and reading readiness skills enhancing physical, social, emotional and intellectual
growth, skills and attitudes which will increase their ability to succeed in school.
Three important things Cecilia’s Child Care stands by: CHOICES, RULES, and PRAISE.
CHOICES :
We make sure the choices that are given to the child are real and we will accept whichever
one is made.

A program where rules are made for important
reasons such as safety-not just to show who is in charge and allow children to do as much on their own as possible.
PRAISE:
A program where children are respected, their opinions
count, and their can-do accomplishments are celebrated.
The daily activities are designed to provide appropriate experiences in the following early childhood development
